Belgium National Team

Belgium was the first country from the European mainland to play association football. The Belgium National Team, also known as the Red Devils, faced many challenges.

The Red Devils faced disappointing results in the past. However, they have a “golden generation” from 2010 till 2021 with a lot of quality players. This even resulted in the first number one place in the FIFA World Rankings in 2015. In 2022, Belgium will be the only national team in the World to be in this place without winning a major continental trophy.

Stadium
Most of the home matches are played in the King Baudouin Stadium. This is the largest stadium in Belgium, with 50,093 seats.

Belgium National Team Logo
Alongside the EURO 2020 kits, the Belgium Football Confederation, KBVB*, unveiled its new logo and brand identity. The main elements were preserved: the Royal Crown, the wreath, and the Belgian tricolor.

Rivalries
Belgium has two main rivals in their neighboring countries: The Netherlands and France. The clash between Belgium and The Netherlands is also known as the Low Countries Derby. After one of these matches, a Dutch reporter noted that Belgium players worked as devils. This led to the team becoming known as the Red Devils.

The matchup versus France is nicknamed le Match Sympathique (the Friendly Match)
