The English Football League Two, known as League Two, is the lowest division of the EFL and the fourth-highest league in the overall English football system.
The league, previously known as the Football League Third Division, was introduced for the first time in the 2004/2005 season. Together with the winner of the playoffs, the top three teams are promoted to League One. The two teams that finished bottom are relegated to the National League. In the end, all of the teams hope to be playing in the Premier League one day.
In total, there are 24 clubs in League Two. It handles a double round-robin structure, meaning that every team will play matches until everyone has played against each other twice. The following teams performed in the 2021/2022 season.
In Nailsworth, Gloucestershire, you can find Forest Green Rovers, known as the Green Devils. They play their home matches at the New Lawn. The stadium has a capacity of 5,141. Namesakes, Tranmere Rovers, are located in Birkenhead. Their stadium is called Prenton Park. It is one of the biggest venues, with a seating capacity of more than 16,000. Another club with the same name is Bristol Rovers, also known as The Pirates. The club was founded in 1883. Their main rivals are city neighbours Bristol City.
