Why the Turkish Football API?
It is fast, has all data you can think of, and Turkey breathes football.
Sportmonks’ Turkish API covers a couple of significant leagues. One of which is the biggest domestic league in Turkey the Süperlig.
There have been many incredible battles between Galatasaray, Beşiktaş, and Fenerbahçe. Turkey has provided a lot of amazing football players as well. Think of Burak Yilmaz, Nuri Şahin, Hakan Çalhanoğlu. A little further back in the past we have Hakan Sükür, Rüstü Reçber and Bülent Korkmaz.
The Turkey API covers over 36 leagues in Turkey. Besides the Süper Lig, the 1. Lig and Turkish Cup are covered. But as mentioned before, there are many more.
As mentioned before, Turkey had some great football heroes. Hakan Sükür is the all-time top scorer of the Turkish national team. While Rüstü Reçber has the most caps for the team.
Turkey is placed number 44 in the FIFA Rankings. The highest ranking they ever reached was the 5th place in 2004.
Turkey won three matches with a score of 7-0. This is the highest official score Turkey has ever reached. The three matches were versus Syria in 1949, South Korea in 1954 and San Marino in 1996.
The biggest defeats were also three games. The score was 8-0 in favour of Poland in 1968, England in 1984, and again England in 1987.
The current sponsor of the team is Nike. Before Nike it was Adidas until 2003.
Turkey has participated in the World Cup twice. Once in 1954 and once in 2002. In 2002 they managed to become the number three of the world.
In the European Championship, Turkey participated five times. The semi-finals were reached in 2008, which was a pretty impressive performance for a country that has only qualified twice.
At the FIFA Confederations Cup Turkey participated once in 2003 and they ended in third place.
At the Olympic Games, Turkey participated six times. The Turks reached the Quarter-finals in 1948 and 1952.
It is fast, has all data you can think of, and Turkey breathes football.
