Manchester City have been a dominant force in England since the arrival of Pep Guardiola in 2016 but remain in search of their first Champions League title. Manchester City is going for the treble this season. The treble consists of winning the domestic league (The Premier League for Manchester City), the domestic cup (FA Cup) and the Champions League.
Manchester City played a Champions League final in 2021 when they lost against Chelsea. The game ended 1-0, with Kai Havertz scoring the only goal. They have won the Premier League three times in a row and five out of the last six seasons.
Road to the final
Manchester City secured their spot in the final by beating Real Madrid 5-1 on aggregate. Manchester City previously defeated Bayern Munich (4-1 on aggregate), RB Leipzig (8-1 on aggregate) and finished first in the group stages with Sevilla, Borussia Dortmund and Copenhagen.
Champions League stats
City has eleven different goal scorers. It shouldn’t be surprising that Erling Haaland is City’s top scorer with 12 goals in 10 matches. He is the top scorer of the whole competition this season as well. Riyad Mahrez, Bernardo Silva and Julián Alvarez each scored three goals. Kevin de Bruyne is the assist leader of the competition with six assists. Interesting to see is that João Cancelo is number two with four assists in six games.
This season, Sergio Gómez is the only City player to receive a red card in the Champions League. Ilkay Gündogan is the player with the most with most yellow cards. He got four cards in 12 matches.
Rúben Dias played the most matches of any City player, with 957 minutes. Ilkay Gündogan played player 907 minutes, and Rodri played 905 minutes.
Inter Milan
Inter Milan is back to the old glory days and will be the opponent of Manchester City. Inter Milan won the previously named treble in 2010, winning the Serie A, the Coppa Italia and the Champions League. This 2010 team featured great players like Samuel Eto’o, Wesley Sneijder, Javier Zanetti and Diego Milito. Inter Milan have played 5 Champions League finals, winning 3.
Road to the final
Inter Milan secured their Champions League final spot by beating AC Milan 3-1 on aggregate. Inter Milan previously defeated FC Porto (1-0 on aggregate) and SL Benfica (5-3 on aggregate) and finished second in the Group of Death with Bayern Munich, FC Barcelona and Viktoria Plzen.

Inter has nine goal scorers, with Edin Dzeko topping that list with four goals. Nicolò Barella, Lautora Martínez and Romelu Lukaku scored three goals in the number two spot. Federico Dimarco is the one with the most assists. He assisted five times. Alessandro Bastoni and Lautaro Martínez have both assisted three times.

Looking at Bet365, they have Manchester City winning the trophy at odd 1.20, while Inter Milan winning the trophy is calculated at odd 4.50. Bet365 offers a Manchester City win in 90 minutes at odds 1.40 and an Inter Milan win in 90 minutes at odds 6.50. The bookmakers also expect goals with bet365 having the over 2,5 goals line calculated at odds 1.66.
