How-to build a custom plan for the Sportmonks’ Football API

At Sportmonks, we want all our customers to get exactly what they want and need for their application. This is only possible if we allow our customers to create a subscription to their liking. So, let’s take a look at how to create your custom plan for the Sportmonks Football API.

Step 1: Create a New subscription

First, go to the subscription tab and click “New subscription“. Please find the image below to see how to get there.
Choose your sport: After clicking on the new subscription button, you must choose the sport you’re interested in. Select the sport(s) you want and click “next”. For this example, we will continue with the sport football. Here, you can also see which step you are in the subscription builder (1). The other thing you can see here is how your billing cycle is set (2). You can choose between monthly and yearly.

Step 2: Opt for a custom plan

A lot is going on on this page, but no need to stress. We will walk you through it! Our default plans are on this page: The European Plan, the Worldwide Plan and the Enterprise Plan. Besides that, special tournaments (for example, the European Championship) will also be available as special add-ons here. You can select one plan or multiple specials at the same time. We will now select “New Custom Plan” because we are building a custom plan.

Step 3: Choosing Your Leagues

Start by clicking the ” Next ” button to access the league selection overlay. Here, you can choose leagues from a specific default plan by clicking on the select buttons (1). Additionally, you can view the number and names of leagues included in a plan. Remember, you can return to this screen anytime by selecting ‘edit leagues’ on the following page.
Access the league selection overlay by clicking the eye icon associated with our default plans. Here, you can:

- View the leagues included and their quantities
- Copy league IDs for reference
- Navigate to the coverage page for more details

Note: You cannot add leagues to your plan directly from this pop-up.

You have two search options for the leagues you desire: filter by “Country” and “Name”. For instance, if you’re interested in English leagues, you can narrow down the selection from 114 leagues using specific search terms. Once found, you can add leagues like the Premier League (League ID 8) by clicking the corresponding pink circle. Likewise, you can remove a selected league by clicking on the pink circle again. Lastly, review your selected leagues. For example, if you’ve chosen the Champions League, Premier League, and La Liga, you’ll see a count of three selected leagues. You can also view the number of leagues available in England and within our Football API

Step 4: Choosing Data Features

Now, let’s move on to selecting the data features for your plan. You’ll find a comprehensive list of all available data features on this page. You’ll also see the number of leagues included in your custom plan (1).
Additionally, you can add the predictions add-on directly by selecting it (2). Remember to opt for basic, standard, or advanced features individually by clicking on the corresponding pink circle below each category (3). If you need to start afresh, you can clear all selected features by choosing the “clear all” (4).
As mentioned earlier, you can streamline your selection process by clicking on the pink button below the basic, standard, or advanced sets to choose all features simultaneously (3).
Alternatively, if you prefer a more granular approach, you can select individual features according to your preferences. Remember, you can remove any selected feature individually by clicking on its pink circle (2).

Step 6: Adding Add-ons

Explore our range of add-ons available for your Football API plans. Whether you’re looking for additional API Calls, News, Predictions, Pressure Index, or our Premium Odds Feed, this is the place to find them.

Now, fill in some final information about your custom plan request and hit the “Request Price” button.

Success! Now you are on the success page. We have received your proposal and will get back to you shortly. In the meantime, it’s beneficial to check our developer documentation.

Confirmation of your plan request

How to continue after successfully creating your custom plan request?

So, now what? Good question. Our sales and support team will get back to you via e-mail within 24 hours to send you a price proposal. After you have come to an agreement, they will set up your plan, and you can activate it on My.Sportmonks.com.

After the agreement, you will receive an email once the plan is created. You will find a notification in My.sportmonks.

By clicking on the notification bell, you will open a new overlay. Here you can select to go to the checkout to access all data in your custom plan.

You will find a screen which you have seen before. Football is already pre-selected, you can click on ‘next’.

Now you can see the ‘custom plan’ being pre-selected. You can check it out more closely by clicking on a custom plan. You can see which leagues and features are included and you can see the price you have agreed to.

Completing the checkout

Finish the checkout to subscribe to your custom plan.

How can I request a custom plan?

There are two options for requesting a custom plan.

You can email our sales team with the requirements of a plan. They will get you sorted with your request for a custom plan!
You can go to my.sportmonks.com and create a custom plan yourself. Choose the leagues and data features you like and request a price. Our team will come back to you as soon as possible.

How does the 14-day free trial work?

Once subscribed to one of our plans you will automatically receive the 14-day free trial. After 14 days, your credit card will be charged, unless you choose to cancel your subscription in time. You’re only permitted to have one free trial.

How does the billing cycle work?

If your subscription is still active after the free trial period, a recurring billing cycle will commence for the amount you have agreed to. A billing period lasts 1 month and is paid upfront.

When will my subscription be active?

After you’ve subscribed to a plan, it will take a maximum of 15 minutes before your new data is visible.

Which data features are included in the advanced package?

In the advanced data feature package, you will have access to all the features in the standard and basic packages. Furthermore, you will have access to live odds, trends, and live standings. For a full overview of all our data features and more information, you can refer to our coverage page.

Which payment methods are supported?

As of now, we only accept credit card and PayPal as valid payment methods.

Can I add multiple sports?

Yes, you can select multiple plans to create one subscription.

Do you offer yearly plans?

Yes, we offer yearly plans. Yearly plans are discounted compared to monthly plans.

Is it possible to increase the number of API calls?

Yes this is possible. We offer an increased number of API calls for an extra tariff. Please contact us if you would like to increase the number of API calls.
