2022 Formula One

The 2022 Formula One season began very interestingly. Max Verstappen had 2 DNF’s after the first three races after several problems, Mercedes didn’t managed to build a competitive car like the years before, and Ferrari was back at the top. Charles Leclerc was the championship leader for the first five races, but after a DNF in Spain, he lost it to Max Verstappen. The Dutchman dominated since then and never lost his first place as championship leader. Max Verstappen won his second consecutive World Title, and Red Bull Racing won the Constructors Title with a few races left on the calendar. The second-place battle was exciting until the last lap between Sergio Pérez and Charles Leclerc. Before the final Grand Prix, they were on the same amount of points, but Leclerc finished just a few seconds before Pérez and finished as runner-up.

Verstappen World Champion

Furthermore, Carlos Sainz and George Russel won their first Grand Prix this season. It was a tough season for seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton. It was his first season as Formula 1 driver without a race win. And it was the final season for Sebastian Vettel, a four-time World Champion.
