Manchester City had a challenging away game planned against Fulham on the 30th of April. Nevertheless, Norwegian striker Erling Haaland needed 5 minutes to score his 34(!) goal in his 30th Premier League fixture. This immediately means Haaland broke a record in his first Premier League season.
Since establishing the Premier League in 1992, no one has scored more goals in this number of matches. Alan Shearer and Andy Cole scored 34 goals once, but they needed 42 matches. Haaland still has six games to get the record solely in his name. The question isn’t if he will break the record but when Haaland gets his 35th goal.
